ABOUT — Xiaoping Yu

BIO: Xiaoping Yu is an Edinburgh-based artist working with sculpture, installation, and mixed media. Her practice begins from the body, not as image, but as sensation, trace, and pressure.

Using clay, resin, and other tactile materials, she creates forms that hold a quiet tension between softness and unease. Her work explores fragility, memory, and the invisible states that shape bodily awareness.

Xiaoping’s practice gives material presence to what is often concealed: sensitivity, imbalance, hesitation, and the subtle weight of being in the world.
